Nate Holdren profile-

I consider this a workspace for myself at least as much - if not more - as something for other folks. As such, here's a note to self:
Nate Holdren profiles! Find other Nate Holdrens and write about 'em, interview 'em, etc etc...

rock.

Get going.

I will. Tomorrow. Now it's bedtime.

Sigh.

when in doubt, plagiarize, or talk to yourself

1.

I know, I can write my way out of this black hole, back to all the things that I miss.

Always writing against this truth, in the way that a painter must have a surface to hit.

Actually it's not really plagiarism, here's why: these are lyrics from Jets To Brazil songs, "Wishlist" and "The Frequency", respectively. The former also has the line "They took my words and wrote them off as passing. It pissed me off enough to keep me writing." Good stuff.

I'm not the kind of person who emulates indie rock stars, but if I were, I'd emulate Blake.

2.

Quoting song lyrics, how profound. Why don't you write them on the back of your notebook while you're at it? Seriously now, what are you doing?
I dunno.
Well, figure it out.  It's like a friend has written in sharpie on his computer monitor:
writers write.

Fair enough. Thanks for the pep talk.
You're welcome.
Did I mention you're turning into your dad?
Fuck off. By the way, this doesn't count as writing.
Oh, but-
Neither does whining or arguing about whether this counts as writing.
Damn.

I will not get pretentious about my title.

I won't.
I promise.
I picked it because the blog needs a name.
That's all. Nothing deep.
It's just the name of a Pixies song that I like.
I will not get pretentious about the title of my blog.
